Old friends and new

Katie For about 20 years now I’ve raised Rottweilers. They are fantastic dogs, gentle, loyal, great companions. About a month ago I lost my Rott, Katie. She was the last puppy out of my last litter; the end of an era. She will be missed, along with her Mother, Sheba and her Daddy, Zukie.
Maggie This weekend I hope to be traveling into Kentucky to meet Maggie, an Old English Mastiff. If we are able to arrange the meeting for this weekend, Maggie will be joining my little family. I’m very excited about her coming to live with us.

Wordpress Plugins

Filed under: WP Notes — admin @ 11:55 pm

I’m thrilled. In the last few days, I’ve moved this domain to a new server. In the process, I also installed three plugins to control spam comments. When I first moved to the new server I hadn’t set up any spam control and in two days had 1305 spam comments. After installing Akismet, Bad Behavior and Comment Timeout, I’ve not had one spam comment. I’d say these three plugins are a must for anyone using Wordpress or other compatible blog software.

Herman or Ermin

Filed under: Genealogy — admin @ 5:08 pm

In the photo album, we have an Ermin Coats, son of Henry Coats and Maybelle Walker but the pedigree chart lists a Herman Coats also the son of Henry and Maybelle.
Are they the same, should Henry be changed to Ermin in the chart or were they brothers? Jan, can you straighten us out on this?

Thanks,Linda

Mystery solved. Herman should be Ermin–there is no Herman. Thanks Jan!

Effie Mae Smith

Filed under: Genealogy — admin @ 5:06 pm

Looking for a picture of Effie Mae Smith, b. Sept. 23, 1892, married to Gus Walker.
If anyone has a picture of Effie Mae, at any age, her descendants would love to have a copy. No known picture of Effie is known to exist at this time. We’re hoping that descendants of her siblings might have a picture of her.

Thanks for any help!

Linda
